New Work, New Work

KPMG in Bangkok is one very nice office. By "very nice" I mean the following:

-I can choose to punch in at either 8 or 9 AM (flexi-time)

-"Punching-in" means pressing your thumb against a TFT screen for a fingerprint or biometric scan (I am tempted to say "Agent Siason" during the fingerprint reading just to see any reaction from people around me.)

-The firm occupies 4 floors (if Im not mistaken) in the Empire Tower, one of the really smart office buildings in Thailand

-Well-furnished gym

-Flat TV's abound, showing the news and some noontime shows. In Thai.

-Spanking clean offices

-Free invites to the World cup qualifying matches when Thailand plays

-"American Idol-style" singing contests on Fridays to break work monotony

-Movie nights with the clients to strengthen business (and probably social) relationships

-English-language training institute (in consortium with Wallstreet, an English language school) for those who can't speak English very well

-Team-building in Phuket (last time they said it was held in Phuket; God I hope this year it's still going to be in Phuket!)

The Empire Tower at sunset (the wide building with 5 columns).
I work at the 51st floor.

My business card in Thai. It reads Agent Siason, CTU.

"Tea, Khun Jesse?" Schwin, the HR guy, asks.
"Lovely," I reply courteously, feeling like an Englishman on steroids.
